Authentication Error

I am trying to make an API call to Tracks, but I continue to receive a 401 unauthorized error. For example, when I execute the following call:

curl -H ‘Accept: application/xml’ -H ‘Content-Type: application/xml’ -u username:password http://tracks.mydomain.com/

I continually receive the 401 error. I am not an expert in Rails and would appreciate some tips on how to troubleshoot the error.

Stats doesn’t work, everything else does

Love the program, just digging into it. I installed it to a subdomain on Dreamhost, and it works great, except for Stats. I get a 404 error when I try to view them.

I’m using version 1.7 on Dreamhost, as I said. I really know very, very little about how this all works, so it’s likely something I simply overlooked or something I inadvertently broke.

Thanks in advance for any help anyone can give me.

I have just installed tracks (actually my developer did) on http://www.tedpenner.com/tracks. The username and password to the demo account is tracksdemo for both. I may be creating accounts for testers that I happen to notice in the donor list but am not sure of that yet. Can anyone tell me if there is a way to adjust out the excess free space somehow. Tracks uses way too much free space. I can go smaller in my browser. I get reduced font, but also reduced white space on the screen.

Shows randomly plain text when calling pages, tracks 1.5, Apache (on Ubuntu), fcgid, SSL

few day ago I’ve set up tracks 1.5 on Kubuntu 7.10 (now 8.04) with

- apache-2.2.8
- libapache2-mod-fcgid-2.2-1
- ssl_module

It works fine but I got randomly plaintext content (HTTP 200 ...) instand of the renderd content.
So a look on the debug error log files shows me the followning:

After configuring tracks vhost to use port 80 without ssl, all works fine.
I think this is more a apache und mod_ssl problem than a tracks and ruby on rails problem but maybe sombody have a solution to this.

Searching Tags broken

So I have this really weird issue,

I can tag/star tasks in tracks, (1.6 on the moment, but I had this issue for a while, also in 1.5), but when searching for tags, either by using the star tab or clicking on a tag I get 0 results.

I did a clean install and then it all seems to work fine, so that rules out a software bug, it should be in the database.

If anybody has some hints/tips on where to look, I would very much appreciate it.

Printing tasks

How can I print selected tasks in nicely formatted form?

For example I know that I’ll have a busy day today with lotsa task and away from computer.
I would like to be able to print today’s tasks (or selected tasks) with text descriptions:

Having dates, contexts etc. is not necessary.

I just upgrade my Tracks from 1.6 to 1.7.

It looks like every thing is OK except the new fuction “recurring_todos”. Below is the detail error info I got when click the “Recurring_todos” icon. And I’m wondering how to resolve it.

Flash troubles in stats

I’m having some troubles with flash not displaying in my stats page…I get the message

You’ll need to install flash player for charts to be displayed.

Now, I know I have flash installed because youtube, CNN, the adobe flash tester app, they all work, and I’ve tested tracks on FF3, k-meleon and IE6 and get the same error.

I downloaded and re-installed Flash, still same thing.

I’m running Tracks 1.6 on track.morphexchange.com

Anyone have any thoughts as to why this might be the case?

Errors as admin on /users view in Windows based Browsers

In addition to the general trouble with IE 8, it seems I have intermittent trouble on other windows based browsers, namely Firefox 3 (though Safari for Windows has been reported to have trouble).

The general procedure to reproduce this is to log in to Tracks as the admin user, add several users and browse around the /users view in FF3 on windows. You will eventually get the text output of the page you have requested.

IE 8 Problems

There seems to be a good deal of broken functionality in Tracks 1.7 using IE 8. The drag and drop sorting of contexts and the adding of contexts or projects all seem to fail. Anyone seeing similar problems? I can provide additional details if anyone is interested.

This is using the Tracks JumpBox as well as the installation at tracks.tra.in.

We have been using this particular instance of Tracks on Macs for months without noticing any trouble so we were quite suprised with these other issues.
