iTracks 3.0 beta testing

Hello,
I am getting ready for a beta testing cycle of iTracks (iPhone, iPod app).
New features include:
1. Ability to add new tasks from the app.
2. Ordering contexts as per user setting on server.
3. Not showing hidden and completed projects as per user setting on server.

I am looking for feedback as well as interested in hearing what new features you would like to see on the iPhone version.

I’ll be hosting the beta on ibetatest.com.

Tracks running on iPad

I just thought I’d mention that I got Tracks (1.7.1) running on a jailbroken iPad.

Getting it working wasn’t too hard, though I ended up having to cross-compile the C portion of the sqlite3-ruby gem. I tested it with WEBrick, and am currently running it via lighttpd.

I’ve tried several times to get into GTD, and have always liked Tracks the best out of the software that I’ve tested, but it never seemed to quite fit when running it on my notebook/desktop. I can’t say for certain that I’ll stick with it this time, but using it on the iPad is quite nice.

Overall it looks good on the iPad, though I might try to tweak the interface a bit - there is about an inch of free space on the right side, and everything is just a *bit* too small. Zooming in makes it fit nicely, but having to zoom everytime is, of course, not a viable option. I also hope to find a way to hide the Safari navigation bar.

If anyone else tries it and has trouble, feel free to drop me a line. Also, if anyone has already tweaked the interface for the iPad, please let me know.

Combining the Ajax interface with the mobile site?

I have noticed that the Ajax interface for entering tasks works very well on my iPhone, but scrolling around the rest of the page can be a PITA.

I really like the mobile interface, but entering tasks is much easier via the Ajax interface.

Javascript isn’t my forte, so Ajax is a bit of an odd beast to me, so I was wondering—has anyone tried to combine the two?

Sort of like an http://tracks.<host>/fatmobile

Changes from 2.0 to 2.1
Relative paths in server urls are handled correctly.
Minimum OS version requirement is iPhone OS 3.0.

Creating new projects not possible in mobile view

There is no option/button/link to create new projects in the mobile view of tracks. Any reason for this?

You can download iTracks from iTunes AppStore here.
You can also search for “iTracks” in AppStore on your iPhone.

Application Description:

iTracks gets todos from your account on tracks.tra.in account or an intranet installation of tracks. The todos are stored locally on your iPhone or iPod Touch. So you can access your todos even when there is no internet connection. Mark todos as they are completed and synchronize with server when internet connection is available.

Please provide any feedback and suggestions for improvement in this forum.
