Tracks-1.043
Windows XP Media Center
FireFox 2.0.0.2

I have tracks running as a mongrel service on my local machine.

Even after selecting the stay logged in option when logging in, after closing and reopening the browser I am prompted to log in again.

Data is being stored in the database sessions table.

Is this an issue with the sessions being dropped upon opening a new instance of the browser window? Is this expected behavior?

I do not have a problem with fixing any issue with this that is preventing me from remaining logged in, but I am not sure what the expected behavior of this function is.

Thanks,
Dan Cucran

I think it should stay logged in if you just close the window (I just tried closing my tab and reopening it in Safari), but if you quit the browser it will start a new session. Does it log you out in Firefox if you just close the window/tab?

When I close the tab and then open a new tab I am still logged in. When I close the whole browser then restart the browser I am logged out.

I take it that this is the expected behavior.

Is there a reason that the login is not persisted via a browser cookie and only via the session? Would cookie based persistence be desirable?
