I have a possible suggestion for an enhancement that I’d like feedback on. I would like an option to change context in adding a next action from any page. As far as I can tell, context can be selected when adding an action on the Home page, but when adding from a context page, Tracks assumes that the new task should have that same context.

I often generate tasks from other tasks that require different contexts. Two examples:

* I’m reviewing the @emails I have to send, and I realize that I need to call someone to verify the information before I email it out. But I can’t add an @calls action from that page.

* (This is the one that I come up against frequently.) I have a waitingfor context. If as I review it, I generate new actions, I can’t add them with other contexts from that page.

Would it work to have the context dropdown available whenever I add an action from any page? Obviously it would be nice to have it default to the current page’s context (if on a context page), but changeable if needed.

Thoughts?

i second this. makes sense. perhaps if the context dropdown were there, prepopulated with the current context. that’d rock.

OK. I didn’t originally do that because I was trying to minimise clicks for people filling in forms, and also because Safari has a bug when resetting form fields. But I can see that it would be useful.

Can you add a ticket to Trac, please?
