Hello all, please advise me on where i should put this if this is not the optimal place.

In my line of work i often not only have projects and task for that project, but also specs and business notes are a large part of my daily work flow.

What i would like to see is a more integrated notes section of tracks.  Imagine something like google notes capabilities merged into tracks.

Notes and notebooks could be separate and searchable while still associating notebooks or sections in a note book to a task.

Thoughts?  Hope i’m not beating a dead horse here but searching the forums didnt reveal it to be so.

All enhancement request can be submitted on the Trac site: http://dev.rousette.org.uk

There is an enahancement for attachments. There are people working on it. You can see some of the discussion about this on the mailing list

I personally use a separate tool (MS OneNote) for notes besides the basic notes functionality of Tracks. A really good notes tool is very complicated to create, so I’m not sure this is something we need to have in Tracks.

There is an enhancement request for smarter notes on Trac. Perhaps you can add your thoughts about this to the ticket?

I too depend on OneNote for my system. After many GTD tools, the one constant I’ve found works is to use OneNote with a Daily “InToday” Section where each day I jot down quick notes (which can promoted to outlook tasks).

I was excited to find that Tracks supports url in the Notes section by Textile or Markdown annotations.

Unfortunately it does not allow url which have the onenote:// protocol such as:

onenote:///\\server\OneNotes\^OneOutlook\New Section 1.one#section-id={BB43A483-F5EE-4518-86B1-B82653548BAE}&end;I can copy as hyperlink from the OneNote page which I use for GTD Project Reference and would like to paste it to the Notes section of a Project using Markdown format:

“(classname)OneNotePage(title This mouseover)”:onenote:///\\server\OneNotes\Personal\BM Shopping.one#section-id={119CE682-89CB-4EF0-B061-ADD68E4B2753}&end;Unfortunately tracks does not allow the resulting note to render as a hyperlink. In IE any url with onenote:// will open OneNote at the right place. Also in OneNote a hyperlink back to the tracks url will also be placed.

I think a simple code change to treat onenote:// the same as http:// will make life easier for many of us OneNote guys.

Thanks for any help!

hmm. This used to work in the past. I’ve used it myself in previous version using the syntax you describe.

Could you file this as a bug?

Took a while, but I’ve joined assemba and filed the bug:

Thanks for the great app!
