I’d like to port my data from office to home and back putting it in a pendrive. Is there an import/export funcionality (I have seen the export one but I’ve been unable to see how to restore the data).

It would be better still if the DB could be in a pendrive and be read and written there by the program, then it wouldn’t be necessary to remember to do the import-export operation when starting and ending a session.

this is not supported. Import is still experimental in the dev tree.

But you can try to use sqlite and store the db on the pendrive and carry it around.

Or use something like InstantRails to carry around a full working copy of tracks on your pendrive

Not sure about the performance though

Thank you very much for your quick answer! I’ll try to find a way to make the transfer while there is no import functionality.

By the way, very nice app. Lots of functionalities, cross platform and free software!

Hi again. I was not able to work efficiently with tracks last time I wrote, but here I am again :)

I have installed tracks 1.7 with bitnami on a ppc mac with mac OSX 10.4.11. I would like to know if there is a folder somewhere that contains the data, actions, contexts,... so that if I take it with me on a pendrive to a bintmai tracks 1.7 installation for windows and place it in the right place I can make it work in this second computer.

Thanks a lot

I’m not sure if bitnami uses sqlite. You could check your config/database.yml to see if mysql is used or sqlite.

in the latter case, you can just copy the .db file in /db

in the case of mysql you can use mysqldump to extract all data from the database. You can read it into your other mysql installation.
