I have been using tracks for some time now and just can’t live without it. I have created an iPhone application that allows me to take tracks with me even when there is no connection to server.

I would like to get some beta testing by tracks users who own an iphone. I’ll get back in a week with more details and screen shots after polishing it a bit.

I am not sure how to post to the mailing list. Please let me know how to go about doing this.
Also it would be good to know if the tracks website would be willing to host the beta application.

Here are some screenshots:
As you can see the application reflects the way in which I use tracks. For example contexts are more important to me than projects. So I only display contexts.
Click on todos and mark them as done. These completed tasks are sent to the server, the next time you make a connection to the server through a refresh.

Please start PMing with your iphone’s identifier so that I can add you to the provisioning file of the beta application. Here is how you can find the identifier.

Looks very nice! I’m not sure what’s involved in hosting a beta iPhone application, but if it’s enough to provide some webspace publicly accessible through a URL, then we should be able to host it. Email or PM me the details and I’ll see what I can do. One question: will this iPhone application sync (two-way) with server installation? If so, what are the constraints?

I am looking at an alternative beta hosting site like: http://ibetatest.com. I am not clear what the advantages of using this site is, but it is supposed to make the iphone app beta testing easier. Apple has made this process a bit complicated. Thanks for offering to host the app on the website. I’ll get in touch if I find that it is the easiest way for the testers to get the app.

The app has limited edit capability right now. The only action you can perform is mark a task to be done. There is no capability to edit or add tasks. So the two way sync is pretty simple. The app sends the completed tasks to the server and then receives all tasks from the server. The sync would become more complicated when I add edit capabilities.

It looks like http://ibetatest.com/ is the best way to manage beta testing on the iPhone. Please sign up as a beta tester and search for iTracks.
I know that couple of you have PMed with your iphone identifier. I would really appreciate if you would take the time to resubmit the identifier using the above mentioned website.

I’ll have a beta ready by Wednesday so that you can start playing with the application.
Thanks for your help.

Thanks for your response, but I guess that ‘only’ works when you host it yourselves. I’m using the Tracks hosted by http://my.gtdify.com/ so I’m looking for a possibility to access that with my Windows mobile phone.

Obviously this has been popular as there are no beta slots available on iBetaTest any more, just wondering how the testing has gone, and whether you have submitted to Apple yet?  Very keen to get my Tracks on my iPhone smile

I also am interested in the status on this.  An iphone app is keeping me from moving to a Tracks-based solution.  I currently use Toodledo’s iphone app, but would love to move to something I’m hosting myself (for privacy reasons).
