While “hiding” contexts from the home page can remove a lot of stuff, I still find that the home page contains far too much information for me. I really like to focus on what I need to do TODAY - not all the other stuff I don’t have time for. What I’d like to see is a home page option to only show “next actions.” Well, maybe a little more than that. Here is what I’d like to see:

1. Next Actions (the top listed incomplete action for each project)

2. Due or Overdue Actions (Actions which are either overdue, or due to be done within a specified time period (today, 3 days, or one week - as set in the preferences)

3. High Priority Actions (This could be done in different ways: Actions could be given a priority number, a given context (i.e. @Agenda) could be marked as priority making all tasks within it show on the main page, or there could simply be a check box to force something to show in the home page even if it isn’t a “next action”)

One thing I find very usefl about GTD is the ability not to be distracted by stuff I don’t need to do, and I find the current Home page, as beautifully designed as it is, still has too many things listed that aren’t an immediate priority.

I have been thinking about a kind of ‘dashboard’ page (which could become the home page) that would do some of this.
