I’m new to Tracks and am experimenting with the Tickler feature.  Is there a way to prevent deferred actions from showing in my text feeds until the show date?  Having so many unnecessary tasks on the list is distracting from the current, actionable items.

I thought about creating a separate @tickler context and using regular, non-deferred actions with a due date.  But I think this would ultimately add further confusion by having to babysit yet another context throughout the day.

I also thought that I might be able to trim down the list by using only the 7-days out feed.  However, this would miss those actions without a due date.  I would have to set a due date on such actions, say, a week, in order to see them.  While this would encourage a weekly review, it seems non-GTD and would lead to the stress of having to carry items over to the next week.  Seems like a possible waste of time to have to change the dates on each of my 100+ actions.  hmm.

I’m not having any problems viewing my actions on screen, but I’d just like to be able to trim down my printed list for when I’m on the go.

Any help is much appreciated.  I’m using v1.043 hosted on gtdtracks.com.

Thanks!

Actually, that’s just an oversight on my part. I forgot to exclude the Deferred actions from the feeds when I set up the tickler feeder. Can you put in a ticket on dev.rousette.org.uk and we’ll get it fixed.

Thanks, bsag!  I’ll do that right away.
